Not quite a tutorial

The way I make shades is just marking slashes(///) in a row keeping where the lights come from.

Kind of optical prank, it works.

both in traditional and digital.

Tutorial: from paper to digital.

Hey ya’ll! I’m not much of a tutorial person, but this was a technique that I learned from Syuzuki, one of my favorite artists back in the day, when I was 13. I memorized the technique and it’s been one of the most useful things I can do on photoshop. This was something that really helped me, and I hope that it will be useful for even some of you.

In this tutorial, I will be going step by step how I take something from my sketchbook and color it on photoshop.

I’m not very good at it

Probably not a good ref since I rushed it, but this is how I would see snouts in a 3-d perspective. The snout is just a weird triangle/trapezoid shape. Good placing of light and shadows can really bring them out for frontwards view. For me the nose started at the bottom of the eyes and protruded a slight further than the mouth.

We gave out the PMD guild leader buttons a couple of weeks ago already, so sorry for anyone who was waiting out for that :(
Anyway, rules are simple: reblog once for a chance to win!
Winner will be decided Fri, Feb 24th where a new giveaway will be decided.

Some people asked about the process on my speedpaint Scootaloo.

“‎So avoid using the word ‘very’ because it’s lazy. A man is not very tired, he is exhausted. Don’t use very sad, use morose. Language was invented for one reason, boys - to woo women - and, in that endeavor, laziness will not do.”

Sketches. To my surprise some people have told me they actually use some of my sketches as reference material, so I thought I’d try to be a little more helpful and show my thought process a bit.

Cloud tutorial I learned a lot from, also trees!

Some perspective and hand studies.

Anonymous asked you:
Where do you work at? And how did you get that job?

6 Waves as a conceptual artist, and a clean up animator for Skullgirls.

For the concept job I posted on forums and got my work noticed.
